Mike Tippets
President
Mike Tippets is the President of Helius, a leading provider of business-class IP video solutions. Mr. Tippets is responsible for setting corporate strategy and aligning corporate resources to meet that strategy. Together with the Helius Senior Business leaders he is focused on delivering world class solutions to the market.
Since joining Helius in 2003 Mr. Tippets has held senior management positions including CTO. His dedication to customer satisfaction and passion for building technology solutions to solve business problems are keys to his success.
Mr. Tippets brings more than 15 years of high-tech management experience to Helius. Prior to Helius, Mr. Tippets held senior positions at SonicWALL, WordPerfect, Novell and Sprint. Mr. Tippets received his Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.
Alan Taylor
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Helius, Alan
Taylor is responsible for financial planning, management and reporting.
Mr. Taylor brings more than 15 years of financial management and operating
experience to Helius.
Prior to Helius, Mr. Taylor served as Director of Finance and Group Controller
for the Product Development Organization at Novell, where he worked extensively
in the product planning process. He has in-depth merger and acquisition
experience combined with significant operational and international experience
in finance and business development. Prior to Novell, he held analyst
and senior level positions in finance and business development with Boeing,
Ford Motor Company and Honeywell. Mr. Taylor received his Bachelor of
Science in finance and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
Jeffrey Curtis
Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Jeffrey Curtis has responsibility for generating the company’s revenue growth through the development and management of Helius sales, marketing and service organizations. Mr. Curtis also has responsibility for developing and managing customer relationships and insuring the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
Mr. Curtis is a demonstrated leader with more than 15 years of business-to-business sales and management experience in domestic and international markets. Prior to Helius, he was Vice President of North American Sales for Phobos Corporation and Director of Western U.S. Sales for SonicWALL. He was Director of Sales Operations for Novell. Through his career, he has directly managed sales teams, led the creation and development of automated sales tools, and created sales development programs for channel and direct sales organizations. Mr. Curtis received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Utah State University.
Kim Clark
Senior Vice President, Engineering & CTO
As Senior Vice President of Engineering for Helius Mr. Clark is responsible for all critical path engineering management. His duties include the management of all engineering people, plans and process ensuring quality and on-time delivery of all Helius products.
As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Clark works closely with customers, analysts and other industry leaders to align advances in technology with product offerings and solutions.
Mr. Clark brings more than 20 years of extensive engineering management experience to Helius. Prior to this position Mr. Clark was Vice President of Engineering at Linux Networx, a developer of high-end clustering super computers. Mr. Clark also held executive positions at Novell, Lineo and Signetics corporations. Mr. Clark has directed the delivery of industry leading technologies including NetWare and the third largest Linux-based super computer in the world. Mr. Clark holds a bachelor degree in electrical engineering, with minors in mathematics and physics from Utah State University.
David Vandagriff
Vice President, Intellectual Property
David Vandagriff is Vice President – Intellectual Property for Helius. He is responsible for monetizing Helius’ portfolio of intellectual property, including patents and technology.
Mr. Vandagriff has extensive executive experience with a wide range of technology companies, including Lexis-Nexis, where he was responsible for developing the company’s first web-based research product, The Generations Network, where he was Chief Revenue Officer and Corda Technologies.
Mr. Vandagriff is an attorney with experience in litigation, technology law and patent licensing. He was Vice-President/General Counsel for Wanlass Technologies and was also in private practice in California and Missouri.
Jeff Crapo
Executive Vice President, New Business Development
Jeff Crapo is responsible for developing new partnerships and strategic opportunities that enhance the Helius customer experience. He is also responsible for developing new product offerings that expand the suite of Helius’ world-class solutions in the marketplace.
Mr. Crapo brings 12 years of experience as a strategic-thinking leader with repeated success in designing/launching profitable products, securing new partnerships, and conceiving/executing innovative sales and marketing strategies. He joined Helius in June 2007 through its acquisition of PointeCast, where he was a co-founder and principal of the company. Prior to PointeCast, Mr. Crapo was SVP of New Business Development for NSC, a $275 million gift card wholesaler that acquired a customer loyalty program he co-founded. Mr. Crapo was selected as a finalist for the Utah Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy/Information Systems.
