Helius Outlines Next Phase of Distributed IP Video Roadmap

Strategy to Include IP Set Top Boxes and Personal Video Devices

SCREEN EXPO 2006, EARLS COURT LONDON – Feb. 1, 2006 - Helius, Inc., a leading developer of distributed IP video solutions for business, today outlined a roadmap for increasing the scope and reach of IP video access for business.

Today Helius solutions offer a simple, secure and reliable method for deploying IP Video from a central point to multiple remote locations. As customer interest and demands have increased, Helius has responded in moving video from the remote receiver to additional multiple playback displays in remote locations. Helius’ roadmap calls for the introduction of IP enabled set top boxes and hand held devices that work in conjunction with the its MediaGate Router appliances in Helius’ distributed IP video architecture.

Using Set Top Boxes and Personal Video Devices as client platforms, Helius will enable customers to move video to the very edge of their network and beyond, while maintaining management and device control. Available today, the Helius MediaStream SST and the Helius MediaStream SST-ADV are both Ethernet connected remote MPEG playback devices. Working with Set Top Box and Personal Video Device manufacturers, Helius will create specific middleware to address customer needs in delivering new portable solutions enhancing distributed video applications.
