Helius Integrates IP Enabled Set-Top Boxes
Helius will Deliver Middleware Applications for IP Set-Top Box Platform
Lindon, UT – Apr. 17, 2006 – Helius, Inc., a leading developer of turnkey IP video solutions for business, today announced integration with the Tilgin Mood 300 IP Set-top Box. Integration will give customers enhanced playback capabilities including MPEG4 H.264. Helius will be demonstrating this integration at NAB 2006 Booth C8545.
This integration continues to fulfill the Helius mission of delivering IP Video from a central repository to the point of consumption. Using set-top boxes as a client platform, Helius will enable customers to move video to the very edge of their network and maintain control of the content. By combining the set-top box with the Helius MediaSignage application, customers will create Digital Signage networks that support multiple locations and numerous zones within each location. Each zone within the network can have a unique playlist and can be updated from the central office.
In addition to Digital Signage applications, the Helius IP Video infrastructure enables customers to deliver corporate training using rich-media tools like video. Using the Helius MediaTraining application with the IP enabled Mood 300 Set-top Box will further extend this functionality throughout locations on the network.
“Today Helius customers are building Digital Signage networks and delivering Corporate Training videos to the edge of their networks,” said Ron Heinz, President and CEO of Helius, Inc. “Our recent successes demonstrate the power and flexibility of the Helius IP video platform and software solutions.”
“As promised, Helius is building the infrastructure to enable robust IP Video networks. The delivery of applications that run on an IP enabled set-top box extends the network,” said Mike Tippets, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Helius, Inc. “Our research and development efforts are building the next ring which will include handheld devices.”
