HELIUS TO MANUFACTURE ORIGINAL DVB SATELLITE INTERFACE CARD

Promises Greater Flexibility and Lower Costs for Satellite Data Applications

LINDON, Utah – February 26, 2001 – Helius, Inc., the premier technology developer for satellite data solutions, today announced it will begin manufacturing its own satellite interface cards. Increasing its intellectual property portfolio, this decision will allow Helius to fully integrate its Helius Optimized™ software with the hardware interface.

By manufacturing its own satellite interface card, Helius will have complete independence to make quick modifications and customize the product for various applications and platforms, including embedded platforms. This initiative will ultimately allow Helius to provide the industry with more flexible and cost-effective products.

Helius will design its DVB interface cards to operate at a broad range of transponder symbol rates, allowing customers to use the same equipment for both high- and low-bandwidth applications. Initially, the card will support a PCI interface.

Helius plans to bundle the interface card with its Helius Optimized™ software, allowing OEMs the opportunity to license and custom brand the Helius product.

Myron Mosbarger, President and CEO of Helius states, "Producing our own satellite interface card is significant because it provides us with an additional tool to compete in our marketplace. In the past we have outsourced the production of these cards. Now, by producing the card ourselves, we will enhance and integrate it for our routers as well as for other company products. This is very valuable to us."

Helius is expected to produce the DVB satellite interface card within the next two months.
