Helius Expands Management Team to Drive Growth

Company Fortifies Executive Team with Experienced Sales and Marketing Talent

LINDON, UT – May 28, 2003 -- Helius Inc., the world leader in satellite broadband (IP) routing, announced today that it has hired Jeff Curtis as Senior Vice President of Sales and Mike Tippets as Senior Vice President of Marketing. These key additions bring a broad range of experience to the Helius executive team reporting to CEO Ron Heinz.

Jeff Curtis is a demonstrated leader with more than 15 years of business-to-business sales and management experience in both domestic and international markets. Curtis will have direct responsibility for orchestrating and overseeing all of Helius’ worldwide sales operations, including direct sales and channel sales. Previously, Jeff was Vice President of North American Sales for Phobos Corporation, acquired by SonicWALL in 2000 (NASDAQ: SNWL). Following the SonicWALL acquisition, Jeff was Director of Western U.S. Sales. He also held the position as Director of Sales Operations for Novell Inc (NASDAQ: NOVL). Jeff holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Utah State University.

Mike Tippets is a technology marketing veteran, having worked with both direct and channel models throughout his career. Tippets will lead corporate marketing, channel marketing, product management and marketing. Mike has 14 years of experience in technology development, sales and marketing. Most recently he was responsible for worldwide channel marketing at SonicWALL (NASDAQ: SNWL). Over his career Mike has demonstrated the ability to align technologies with real world business needs. His experience includes years at Novell (NASDAQ: NOVL), Sprint (NASDAQ: FON) and WordPerfect (NASDAQ: CORL) where he worked with development teams and customers to create winning solutions in the networking and communications technology space. Mike holds a B.A. in International Relations from Brigham Young University.
