Helius and Broadcast International to Release CodecSys Technology on MediaGate Router Platform

Helius Leads the Market with Revolutionary CodecSys Technology

LINDON, UTAH—March 30, 2004—Helius, Inc., the worldwide leader in business-class data broadcasting solutions, today announced that it will be a host platform for patent pending CodecSys technology from Broadcast International, (OTC BB: BCST) of Salt Lake City, Utah.

As a leader in the satellite and integration business, Broadcast International has teamed with Helius as a Strategic Partner in selling satellite and networking integration services. This announcement strengthens that position by making the revolutionary CodecSys multi-codec system available to the enterprise, broadcast, and cable markets.

CodecSys allows companies to create high quality video and audio transmissions at a fraction of the bandwidth traditionally required by other broadcast/streaming technologies. As the multi-codec system, CodecSys manages libraries of standard and specialized codecs and dynamically changes codecs and codec settings to produce the best possible video using the least amount of network bandwidth. This codec switch happens on a scene-by-scene or even frame-by-frame basis, resulting in a substantially smaller file than those compressed by single-codec solutions. CodecSys delivers full-screen, full-motion video at the lowest possible bandwidths for video-on-demand, live broadcast, distance learning, digital signage, videoconferencing, and numerous other applications.
